UK Solar Car T-Shirt Design
T-Shirt Design, 2025.
The UK Solar Car Team’s management requested a redesign of their old shirt concept to one with a new front graphic that would fit the team’s technologically-forward outlook. They also requested additional updates to the listed team’s featured sponsors, with each sponsor’s size corresponding to their contribution to the team’s efforts. Design requirements were to maintain the blue and white color palette and to list sponsors accurately according to the provided list.
I began this project by creating an inspiration board to send to UKSC’s management for approval. I was given a lot of creative freedom in my initial design choices and decided alongside the team to pursue an architectural blueprint style for the shirt’s front graphic. Using provided images of the current iteration of the Solar Car, I created a grid-like pattern to mimic a technical drawing. For the back of the shirt, I focused on size-matching each sponsor logo and arranging them in an appropriate hierarchy as requested.
This project went through only one round of iterations where the management team requested making the front graphic’s logo larger and to remove some of the gridlines to better highlight the shape of the Solar Car.
